Jesus saves from eternal fire

Why Jesus?

The short answer is to save you from spending eternity in raging fire, which can never be quenched.

Let me tell you the whole story because it is very very important. For it concerns your future. Not only yours but the whole world. This is why Christians are commanded to tell the world. Here we explain.

In the beginning, when God created the world, he also made the first couple, Adam and Eve. They were without sin and God put them in paradise to live forever. But tragedy struck one day when they disobeyed God and ate from the tree that God strictly forbade. Because of this sin of disobedience, death entered the world and they died eventually. Sadly, all their descendants, that is all mankind, would suffer death too.

Unfortunately, physical death is not the end of the story. For our spirits and souls never die. We will either enter a much better place called Heaven or a nightmare of a place called Hell.

By default, it is hell because of sin. This happens after physical death when a person is punished by fire under the earth, then later in the Lake of Fire, where he will be thrown.

Although the Lake of Fire is called the second death, he never dies. Rather, he suffers extreme pain and agony again and again in raging fire without dying. And he can never hope to escape. The torment is day and night, for eternity. Here, we can only warn people earnestly to flee from the deadly penalty of sin.

Unfortunately, we inherited the sinful nature from Adam and were therefore born sinners. So there is no one who never sins or is without sin. How about our good deeds? They are good and necessary but they can’t save us. For they can never take away our sins. It is impossible. Therefore, we are all in trouble.

But here is the Good News. On the day Adam and Eve sinned, God promised a Saviour who would come one day to bear our sins and save us from judgement. God also sent prophets who lived thousands of years ago to foretell about his coming to save mankind. They prophesied that he would be born of a virgin and he would suffer and die for the sins of the world. Furthermore, he would rise from the dead.

At the appointed time 2000 years ago, the Saviour came. God gave his only Son, Jesus Christ, and sent him into the world to take our guilty place and die for our sins.

This took place outside Jerusalem where Jesus was nailed to the cross by Roman soldiers. He eventually died after 6 gruesome hours, with wounds and blood all over his body. All this happened so that he might make atonement for our sins. Without which no one can walk away free and have his sins forgiven.

And to prove that he is divine and his word is true, Jesus rose from the dead on the 3rd day. His disciples saw him face to face over a period of 40 days and that gave them convincing proofs that he is indeed the Son of God. So they went out as his eye-witnesses to spread the good news everywhere.

So through Jesus Christ, God has given men hope by providing a way of escape. This came at the expense of his Son because God loved you and me. This is the only way we can escape the blazing fire of hell. Not by any good we can do, but by grace through Jesus Christ, who bore our sins.

This is not the only blessing. Through Jesus Christ, we start a new life as children of God. We also inherit eternal life so we could enter Heaven, the true paradise. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain there. All will be well and joy forever.

However, Jesus’ sacrifice will not save you nor bless you unless you repent and believe in him.

If you believe, then find a quiet place and say this with all your heart:

Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God and you died for my sins to save me. I repent of my sins and ask for your forgiveness. From today, I will follow you and obey you as my Lord and God. Thank you Jesus for saving me. In your name I pray. Amen

If you have done that, the next step is to follow Jesus as his disciple. Hence, it is important that you join a good Christian church to know him.
