The terror of hell

The Terror of Hell

Hell is not a fictional place as some might think. It is a real place of horror that exists. Here we will look at hell as depicted in the Holy Bible.

Hell is used to describe two places. One is a temporary place called Hades while the other is permanent called the Lake of Fire. But before we go further, let us see what will happen in the future briefly. This is necessary for you to understand how many years a person will spend in Hades.

In the coming days, there will be 7 years of terrible times on earth. At the end of it, Jesus Christ will return to rule the earth for a thousand years. Immediately after this, the dead from every generation will stand before him to give an account of their lives. We call this the Day of judgement. After this, God will make a new Heaven and a new Earth after he has destroyed the present earth and heavens by fire. This is how the world will end in the future.

At the present time, this is what happens when a sinner dies. First, his (her) spirit will leave his body and descend to Hades where he will remain until the Day of judgement. Then he will be thrown into the Lake of Fire. As you can see, a sinner who dies today will remain in Hades for at least a thousand years. Then he will be thrown into the Lake of Fire, where he will remain forever.

Hades therefore is only a temporary place for sinners who are being kept for the Day of judgement. Nonetheless, it is a real place believed to be in the heart of the earth . According to some scientists, the temperature at the core of the earth is around 6000°C. This is 60 times hotter than boiling water and 6 times hotter than volcano lava.

So Hades is like a red-hot burning furnace deep in the earth where sinners are tormented. They will hope for relief but there will be none. Not even a drop of water to cool their tongue. They will weep and gnash their teeth in great agony in this place for what seems like eternity.

If this torment is not already enough, something far worst is waiting. It is the Lake of Fire. It happens on the Day of judgement when sinners will be thrown into a lake full of fiery fire to be burnt forever. They will also be tormented by worms that never die, day and night. This is the second death and far more terrible than Hades. It was never meant for mankind but for Satan and his angels. But if men would not repent of their sins and ask Jesus Christ to save them, they will join Satan in the Lake of Fire forever.

Here we warn people about hell. It is real and horrifying beyond words. The truth is:

1. Hell is forever.
2. Hell is black and pitch dark.
3. Hell is full of fire, brimstone and worms.
4. Sinners will weep and agonize in pain forever.
5. There is no water and no rest in hell.
6. There is no hope and no one to save you.

Before ending, let me attempt to describe hell humbly. Just imagine being locked up in your house forever. There is also no water, no food, no ventilation, no entertainment and no light. Beside this, the temperature in the house is 100 times hotter than the afternoon heat. This torment continues until it becomes more intense when the walls of your house finally broke down and the whole place is filled with worms and engulfed in fiery fire that burns forever and ever.

Hell will be worst than this.
