At 1.10am this morning, we finished reading the whole Bible which started on Monday 12pm. Yes, 4 days of continuous reading day and night non-stop.
What an experience!
This is the first time I joined this event at the invitation of a close friend Sunny. I was hesitant to join but in the end I was so glad that I did. The experience of reading the Bible together with other brothers and sisters was out-of-this-world. A brother who also joined for the first time so entirely enjoyed the experience that he asked for this event to be held every month!
In case you are curious, this reading marathon was done over the internet through the Line App. Each person is given a time slot to join a few others, maximum 5 people, to read the Bible in turn for 2 hours, for example 2-4pm. When the hour is up, the next group takes over and continues reading. So this goes on from Genesis to Revelation, for a total of 66 books, 1189 chapters and more than 31K verses.
About 50 brothers and sisters participated in this 23th edition, with the oldest being 92 years old! Many also sacrificed their time to take up 2 or more slots to read, while others gave up their sleep to read between midnight to 6am. But nobody complained.
As one brother said, ”Who knows how much damage we have done to Satan”, while a sister remarked that when we reach Heaven, we will know what actually happened during that 4 days of Bible reading.
Another marathon is coming in December I heard.
To God be the glory.
