The terror of hell

Like the Volcano

Two days ago, I was watching the news on television when the scene of a volcano eruption appeared. This took place about 10 days ago in La Palma island, Spain. The eruption was so strong that someone said that the noise was like 20 fighter jets taking off. And so devastating was the effect that the lava destroyed hundreds of houses and even flowed into the Atlantic Ocean.

What caught my attention was the fire and lava at the mouth of the volcano. It looked like a lake with liquid fire in it! This sight was terrifying. There is no way anyone could tolerate the heat which is between 800-1200°C.

Yet Jesus warned that unrepentant sinners will be thrown into the Lake of Fire on Judgement Day. This Lake is real and even more devastating than live volcano. The temperature is at least 6 times higher and furthermore, the fire burns and never stops. Those who are punished for their sins will be thrown into this fiery Lake, which they can never get out. They will be tormented day and night, forever and ever.

The Lake of Fire is also called Hell, which you can read here.

So dear friend, if the fire from a volcano is bad enough, can you imagine the fire of Hell? Can you also imagine screaming in pain in a sea of blazing fire day and night forever, without a moment of rest and without any way out?

But here’s the good news. Jesus shed his blood to save us from the fire, so we could escape the eternal punishment for our sins. If you believe, then repent of your sins and believe in Jesus Christ, and follow Him from today. This is the only way out.

May God have mercy on us.
